Response to Israel aggression

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran is not seeking a war but is ready to deliver an appropriate response to Israel’s recent aggression against the Islamic Republic. Addressing a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian said the Iranian nation and the Islamic establishment have proved over the past 45 years that they will never give in to any aggressor. The president said the continuation of Israel’s acts of aggression and crimes will escalate tensions, adding that Washington provokes Tel Aviv into committing such crimes. Pezeshkian slammed Israel’s backers, particularly the United States, for claiming to be defenders of human rights and freedom while remaining silent in the face of the regime’s massacres of Palestinians and the Lebanese people. Pezeshkian’s remarks come a day after the Israeli regime attacked several Iranian military facilities, killing four army personnel and one civilian.

Gaza genocide raging unabated

UN chief Antonio Guterres, says he is shocked by the harrowing levels of death, injury and destruction in north Gaza. The UN secretary general’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said repeated efforts to deliver humanitarian supplies essential to survive continue to be denied by Israel. The spokesman added that the Secretary-General reiterates calls for an immediate ceasefire. The special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, has also slammed Israeli atrocities in the besieged Gaza Strip. She said the entire population of Gaza is at risk of dying in a genocide that is executed under the international community’s watch.

Hezbollah retaliatory operations

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has carried out more attacks on Israeli targets in response to the regime’s genocide in Gaza and aggression against Lebanon. Hezbollah rockets and drones hit a number of Israeli settlements, including Kiryat Shmona and Nahariyya. Separate rocket attacks targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers in some other settlements in the occupied territories. The resistance movement launched a drone strike on Israel’s Marj site as well, causing casualties among the regime’s forces there. Hezbollah also says its air defense units confronted Israeli warplanes and a Hermes-900 drone with surface-to-air missiles and forced them to leave the Lebanese airspace.
