Iranian archers have displayed admirable performances at the 2017 Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament Stage III in Chinese Taipei, and managed to collect four medals at the event.
On Saturday, Iran’s 40-year-old athlete Esmaeil Ebadi competed in the final match of the men's individual compound section at the National Taiwan Sports University in Taipei, and scored 699 points to snatch gold.
Kin Lip Lee of Malaysia received the silver medal with a total score of 690 points. Chinese Taipei’s Chen Hsiang-Hsuan took the bronze with the total score of 689.
In the women's individual compound final, Fereshteh Ghorbani tallied 652 points and earned a silver medal for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Indian Divya Dhayal struck the gold medal with 667 points. The bronze went to Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh from Malaysia, who notched up 660 points.
Iran women’s compound team of Fereshteh Ghorbani, Parisa Baratchi and Afsaneh Shafieialavueh also earned a bronze.
Furthermore, Iran’s compound mixed pair of Ebadi and Baratchi clinched a bronze medal, when they faced opponents from Chinese Taipei and emerged victorious 155-150.
The 2017 Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament Stage III kicked off in Taipei, Chinese Taipei, on July 4 and will finish on July 9.
