Israeli massacres in Gaza
More Palestinian civilians are slaughtered in Gaza as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more attacks. In one of the deadliest strikes, at least 66 Palestinians were killed after Israeli warplanes struck a residential area near the Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. More than 100 others were injured in the attack. Israeli warplanes also carried out an air raid targeting a school housing displaced Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving nearly 10 people killed. In a separate strike, nearly two dozen Palestinians, including 10 children, were killed in an Israeli attack on a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City. The deadly strikes come as nearly 44,000 civilians have been killed so far and more than 104,000 others injured in Israel’s genocidal war since October last year.
US support for Israel
The US Senate has voted down a resolution seeking to block the Biden administration's recent sale of 20 billion dollars in weapons to Israel. The resolution, introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders, was rejected with a 79 to 18 vote against the measure. He said Washington is complicit in human rights atrocities, and nonstop aid for Israel would undermine US credibility. Two more resolutions to halt sale of other weapons were also defeated after winning less than 20 votes. The Biden administration last month warned Israel its military aid could be at risk if the humanitarian situation did not improve in Gaza, but ultimately declined to withhold any assistance.
Hezbollah retaliation
Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah is pressing ahead with its retaliatory operations against Israel, inflicting losses on the regime’s military. In a statement, Hezbollah said it targeted two gatherings of Israeli forces in the south and east of the Lebanese town of Khiyam, with salvo of missiles. Hezbollah also said it hit a gathering of regime forces in the al-Ajl site, north of the Kfar Yoval settlement, with a rocket salvo. The resistance movement also inflicted losses on the regime’s infantry force in south Lebanon. According to the Israeli military, two soldiers were killed during clashes with Hezbollah fighters early on Thursday.
