Gaza slaughter unabated
More death and destruction in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli regime continues its genocidal campaign and keeps pounding the blockaded territory with air and artillery strikes. An Israeli strike hit a house in Gaza City, killing two children along with their parents. Six people including a mother and her two children were also lost their lives in strikes on the central city of Deir al-Balah. In the north, the regime’s latest attack on Beit Lahia, left at least 25 people dead, with many still being trapped under the rubble. Israeli forces also attacked Kamal Adwan Hospital for a second day, wounding medical staff and patients, including newborn babies. This is while, the humanitarian situation in the northern strip remains catastrophic amid the crippling siege. Since the onset of the war on Gaza, nearly 43,400 Palestinians have been killed and over 102,000 others injured. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, some 12,000 students are among the dead.
Hezbollah retaliation
Air raid sirens have sounded in the occupied city of Haifa as the Hezbollah resistance movement carries out fresh retaliatory strikes on Israeli targets. Hezbollah says it fired a barrage of rockets toward Israel's Doviv barracks. The Lebanese resistance movement also targeted Israeli military sites in the Upper Galilee region in the northern occupied Palestinian territories. Hezbollah earlier hit Krayot settlement, north of Haifa, with a rocket barrage. The Lebanese resistance group has repeatedly said that its anti-Israel operations are in support of Palestinians in Gaza, and in defense of Lebanon and its people.
US presidential election
Americans are casting their ballots in the U.S presidential election as the two candidates are running neck and neck. Polling stations opened at 6:00 am local time in states including Virginia, North Carolina and New York. Tens of millions of voters are expected to cast their ballots. More than 82 million people have already voted early in the preceding weeks. A final outcome may not be known for several days if the results are as close as the polls suggest, adding to the tension in a deeply divided nation. The two candidates wrapped up their campaigns on Monday night as they focused on swing states to sway undecided voters.
