Hezbollah retaliation

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has carried out a drone strike on an Israeli military site, leaving four of the regime’s soldiers dead. According to Hezbollah, a squadron of drones was fired toward the Golani Brigade camp, south of Haifa. Over 100 Israeli soldiers were also injured in the attack, seven of them in critical condition. There have been other rocket and drone attacks on Israeli military sites. They include a rehabilitation and maintenance center south of Haifa that was targeted by a barrage of rockets and a logistics base in the occupied Golan Heights. Hezbollah has also fought off Israeli soldiers by carrying out an ambush on the outskirts of a town in southern Lebanon. The resistance fighters used a barrage of rockets and machine guns in the ambush, forcing the regime’s troopers to retreat. Hezbollah says its operations were conducted in support of Palestinians in Gaza and in defense of Lebanon.

Peacekeepers under attack

The UN secretary general has condemned recent Israeli attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon that left several peacekeepers injured. The spokesman for the UN chief quoted Antonio Guterres as saying that the Israeli attacks are in breach of international law and may constitute a war crime. Stephane Dujarric added that UNIFIL personnel and its premises must never be targeted. He urged all parties, including the Israeli military, to refrain from any action that puts UN peacekeepers at risk. At least five peacekeepers have been wounded in recent days in southern Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Guterres to relocate peacekeepers from southern Lebanon. UNIFIL has accused the Israeli military of deliberately firing on its positions.

Massacring displaced Gazans

Touching on the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza where the Tel Aviv regime is pressing ahead with its deadly onslaught across the blockaded Palestinian territory. In central Gaza, the Israeli military struck tents of displaced Palestinians at al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital, killing 4 people and injuring 40 others. This is the fourth such attack on the hospital this month. In a separate attack, at least 22 people were killed and dozens more injured after Israeli artillery shelled a school housing the displaced near the Nuseirat refugee camp, also in central Gaza. And, five children were killed after the shelling of al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza. The Israeli aggression against Gaza which began in October last year has so far claimed the lives of more than 42,200 people. Over 98,000 Gazans have also been injured since then.
