US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel presses ahead with its unrelenting air and artillery strikes on the Gaza Strip more than nine months into the US-Israeli genocide in the blockaded territory. In one of the latest attacks, at least 30 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. Israeli airstrikes also killed 16 Palestinians, including seven children, in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Dozens more were injured. At least two civilians were killed and six others wounded after an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of the southern city of Khan Yunis. According to Gaza health officials, more than 50 Palestinians were killed and 208 others injured in 24 hours. Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed nearly 38,300 Palestinians so far, leaving over 88,240 others injured.

Israel war on schools

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says two-thirds of its schools in Gaza have been bombed by Israel during its ongoing onslaught on the territory. UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said four schools housing the displaced people were bombed in the last four days alone. He added that schools in Gaza have gone from safe places of education and hope for children to overcrowded shelters, and often end up a place of death and misery. He lamented that Israel’s relentless and endless killing of Palestinians and destruction of Gaza have continued for nine months. Lazzarini said Israel’s blatant disregard of international humanitarian law cannot become the new normal. He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. According to the Palestinian education ministry, over 8,800 students have been killed, and 14,000 others injured in Gaza since the start of the Israeli genocide early last October.

Iran supporting Palestine

Iran’s president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran will continue its all-out support for the oppressed people of Palestine until all their rights are restored and al-Quds is liberated. In a message to Hamas chief, Ismail Haniyeh, Pezeshkian said Iran considers supporting the Palestinian nation’s fight against the Zionist regime’s occupation and apartheid its humane and Islamic duty. The Iranian president-elect said he has no doubt that Palestinians will emerge victorious from the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza due to resistance of the Palestinian nation and the heroic struggle of its fighters. Iran has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause since 1979, with the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, calling Israel a cancerous tumor that should be wiped off the region.
