US-Israel genocide in Gaza
Gaza has come under fresh air and artillery strikes as Israel remains intent on its genocidal campaign in the besieged strip. The regime’s warplanes bombed areas of Nusseirat and Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza. In the north, the Israeli artillery shelled an area near Beit Lahia. Several were killed in an attack on western part of the city of Khan Yunis in Southern Gaza. The eastern part of Rafah is also witnessing constant artillery shelling as a senior Israeli official says the military is moving ahead with its planned ground invasion of the southern city. Israel launched its onslaught on Gaza in early October. Over 34,350 Palestinians have been killed so far. Most of those killed are women and children.
Yemen supports Palestine
Million-strong rallies have once again been held in several Yemeni cities, including Sana'a and Sa'da as protesters reaffirm their unwavering support for Palestinians in Gaza. Yemenis voiced their deep anger at Israel’s genocide in Gaza and Western backing for the regime. They also chanted slogans in support of their army’s anti-Israeli operations in the Red and Arabian seas. That’s a day after the leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement vowed a significant expansion in the scope and strength of the naval attacks. Yemenis have been holding weekly rallies in solidarity with Palestinians during the US-Israeli genocide that began in October.
Iran slams US crackdown
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman says the violent crackdown on Palestine solidarity protests on university campuses exposes the discrepancy between Washington’s words and deeds. In a social media post, Nasser Kana’ani said, the US officials are not morally qualified to lecture others on Human Rights, Women’s rights and freedom of speech. Since last week, US university students, professors and faculty members have been holding protests against the Israeli genocide in Gaza despite a police clampdown. The protesters across the US, from California to Texas to Washington, are demanding universities divest finances from manufacturers that sell weapons to Israel. The US police in riot gear have been using tear gas against the demonstrators. Also, scores of protesters have been arrested.
