US-Israel genocide in Gaza

Israeli massacres of Palestinians in Gaza keep unfolding as the regime has been pounding the blockaded territory with airstrikes and artillery for more than four months. In the latest strikes, the regime bombed several homes in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, leaving a number of Palestinians dead and injured. In the al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, at least five Palestinians were killed and several others injured after regime's warplanes struck the area. A Palestinian was also killed by the Israeli fire in the Abasan al-Kabira area, in Khan Yunis. Meanwhile, violent clashes are underway between resistance fighters and IOF soldiers on Gaza’s Salah al-Din road. More than 29,000 Palestinians have so far been killed in relentless Israeli bombardments and artillery attacks since October 7.

Israel West Bank raid

Israeli troops have stormed several areas across the West Bank as part of daily raids in the occupied territories. Regime forces raided Beit Ammer, north of al-Khalil, Tubas near Nablus, the towns of Kfar Na'ama and Sinjil near Ramallah as well as several areas in Jenin and al-Quds. They shot and injured several Palestinians following clashes with them. Israeli soldiers also abducted a number of Palestinians and deployed military reinforcements in the areas. Violence has been on the rise across the occupied territories since the regime started its genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip in early October. Nearly 390 Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s forces and settlers in the West Bank since then.

ICJ on Israeli occupation

The top UN court is holding a second day of hearings on Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories. Representatives from 52 countries and several International organizations are taking part in the six-day oral proceedings at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The hearings are related to a case brought by the UN General Assembly. The UNGA had passed a resolution in December 2022, urging the ICJ to give an advisory opinion on Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land. The judges are asked to consider the legal consequences of Israel’s violation of the right of Palestinians to self-determination. On the first day of the hearings on Monday, the Palestinian envoy to the UN, said International law could not stop Israel from committing crimes against Palestinians. The ICJ judges are expected to take nearly six months to issue their non-binding ruling on the case requested by the UNGA. The case is separate from the lawsuit filed in December by South Africa against Israel at the UN top court. South Africa’s motion accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. The ICJ issued an interim ruling last month, calling on Israel to put an end to all activities that amount to genocide in Gaza.
