US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
It’s been 80 days since Israel launched its deadly onslaught on Gaza. The regime has carried out fresh strikes that dovetail with the narrative that the onslaught is actually a "genocidal war." At least 70 people have been killed in the strike on the al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza. The air raid also injured dozens of others. Gaza’s government office has once again urged the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop its genocide. The resistance movement Hamas described the bombardment as a horrific massacre. Other areas across Gaza also witnessed new strikes. In Deir al-Balah, seven people lost their lives after Israeli warplanes bombed a residential building. Another airstrike killed around two dozen Palestinians in the southern city of Khan Yunis. To the north, the regime’s bombardment killed ten members of a family in the Jabalia camp. The total death toll now stands at over 20,400, most of them women and children.
Hamas retaliation
The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has released a statement on its recent retaliatory attacks against the invading Israeli forces in Gaza. The al-Qassam Brigades says its fighters killed 48 Israeli troops during a number of operations over the past four days. It added that the operations involved missiles as well as anti-fortification and anti-personnel devices. According to al-Qassam, its fighters also clashed with the regime’s forces at point-blank range. In the same period, 35 Israeli military vehicles were partially or completely destroyed as well. The military wing of Hamas pounded the Israeli military’s headquarters and command centers as well as some gatherings of the regime’s forces in the Gaza Strip. The group also targeted Tel Aviv with a barrage of missiles.
Raeisi's letter to Pope
The Iranian president has expressed hope that the international community will take prompt action to put an immediate end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza on the threshold of the Christian New Year. Ebrahim Raeisi, in a message to leader of the world’s Catholics Pope Francis, said one of the key challenges facing the international community today is Tel Aviv’s military aggression against Gaza. The Iranian president blasted international bodies for failing to deal with the Israeli onslaught seriously. He said over 20,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza with the support of the US and certain European countries. Raeisi said he hoped to see an immediate end to Israeli atrocities against Gaza residents and to see peace and tranquility take hold across the world.
