Israeli settler attack

Two Palestinian brothers have become the latest victims of Israeli settler crimes in the occupied West Bank. A settler deliberately ran over Mohammed and Muhannad Mutair with his car in Nablus. Resistance movement Hamas has reacted by saying that the Israeli regime lets the perpetrators get away, to incite further crimes against Palestinians.

North Korea missile test

Tensions remain high on the Korean Peninsula as the North allegedly fires two ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan. The South Korean military says it detected the launches from an area in North Pyongan province. Seoul added that it had strengthened its surveillance capability while cooperating with the United States and maintaining its full preparedness. The Sunday launches come days after North Korea tested a high-thrust solid-fuel motor for a new weapons system. Pyongyang has conducted a number of missile tests this year, including an intercontinental ballistic missile. It says these are in response to the United States’ growing presence in the region and its joint military drills with South Korea and Japan. Recently, the U-S and its allies warned that Pyongyang is preparing to launch its first nuclear test since 2017.

Russia-Ukraine war

Ukraine says it has managed to restore power in some regions after Russian missile strike on Friday. Zelensky also added there are big problems with the supply of heat and water. He also urged western allies to give Ukraine a reliable air defense shield. The Ukrainian president said Kiev and its surrounding regions are hardest hit and in other regions there are large scale outages. Earlier, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman said the strikes have prevented delivery of foreign-made weapons and ammunition. The chief commander of Ukraine’s armed forces said 60 of the 76 Russian missiles were intercepted and destroyed, yet they took a heavy toll on infrastructure. Two people were also killed after a rocket hit a residential building.
