Israel has carried out a series of new incursions and attacks on Lebanon in violation of a ceasefire agreement the regime reached with the Arab country.
According to Lebanese media on Thursday, Israeli forces carried out an incursion into the town of Beit Lif and set some houses on fire in Aita-roun in the South of Lebanon.
The state news agency NNA said an Israeli patrol backed by tanks, military vehicles, and a bulldozer moved into the outskirts of the town in Bint Jbeil district.
Israeli regime warplanes also targeted a vehicle and a building which the Israeli military claimed was an arms depot.
This came days after Israeli forces advanced into the towns of Qantara and Taybeh in the Marjayoun district in southern Lebanon, where they burned several homes in violation of a ceasefire agreement with the Hezbollah resistance movement.
The latest breach brought the number of Israeli violations of the ceasefire deal to 336.
Israel was forced to accept the ceasefire with Hezbollah after suffering heavy losses following almost 14 months of fighting and failing to achieve its goals in its aggression on Lebanon.
The truce deal came into effect on November 27. It will last for 60 days in the hope of reaching a permanent cessation of hostilities.
Under the agreement, an international monitoring committee, headed by the US, is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire.
Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement has reiterated that it is in full possession of its capabilities, warning that it will respond decisively to Israeli forces occupying Lebanon once the ceasefire concludes.
Mahmoud Qamati, deputy head of Hezbollah's political council, in an interview with the al-Manar network recently, said that the group's missile stockpiles and capabilities remain intact, noting that they continued missile strikes against Israel right up to the moment the ceasefire took effect.
Qamati explained that the current restraint exercised by the resistance is intended to support the Lebanese population and to honor the commitments made to mediators during ceasefire negotiations to allow for a resolution of outstanding issues.
Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has called on the Israeli regime to adhere to the ceasefire agreement.
The secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement in remarks on Wednesday said that the group had recuperated well following the assassination of its late leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut on September 27, emphasizing that his group had revived its military prowess as well.
“We proved through resistance that we will not allow the [Zionist] enemy to advance its agenda. It is the responsibility of the Lebanese government and the international community to confront the acts of aggression that are currently taking place [against Lebanon],” Sheikh Naim Qassem said.
Hezbollah opened a support front for Palestinians in Gaza only a day after Israel unleashed its war against the besieged territory in October 2023, launching numerous retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets in the occupied lands.
At least 4,063 Lebanese citizens were killed, including women, children and health workers, while 16,664 others had been wounded so far in the months-long Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
