EU officials, entities blacklisted
Iran says it has imposed sanctions on several European institutions and individuals for supporting terror and chaos in Iran. The Foreign Ministry has released a list of 21 entities and individuals from the European Union in a retaliatory move against the bloc. The ministry has strongly condemned the EU's illegal bans on Iran, saying they are based on unfounded allegations. It has described the EU move as clear interference in Iran’s internal affairs. Just days ago, some European countries imposed a set of restrictions, alleging they were in response to the way Iran has been handling the recent riots. Tehran responded by blacklisting a number of British individuals and entities for supporting terrorism and inciting violence in the country.
UN silence on Israeli attacks
Iran is once again calling on the United Nations to break its silence on the Israeli regime’s continued aggression against Syria. According to Iran’s ambassador to the UN, Israel is targeting Syrian civilians and infrastructure in clear violation of international law and human rights. Amir-Saeed Iravani says the UN silence has further emboldened the regime. Israel frequently strikes targets inside Syrian territory. The Damascus government has repeatedly urged the UN to condemn such acts of aggression. On Monday, the regime’s warplanes fired several missiles at targets near the capital, Damascus, leaving a Syrian soldier wounded.
Russia-Ukraine war
Russia will soon submit a resolution at the UN Security Council to demand a probe into the activities of US biological labs in Ukraine. In the draft resolution released earlier, Moscow has asked for setting up a commission, consisting of all members of the Security Council to investigate the matter. Russia has argued that the US and Ukraine are violating a convention, which prohibits the use of biological weapons. The draft resolution will be considered during a session on October the 27th. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Moscow has been accusing Kiev and Washington of carrying out biological weapons activities in laboratories located in Ukraine. The US has admitted to running biolabs in the country, after initially rejecting those claims as Russian propaganda.
