Young Iranian freestyle wrestlers have put in fine performances at the Constantin Alexandru & Ioan W. Popovici and Dumitru Pirvulescu & Vasile Iorga in Romania, and ended third overall on the medal table.
The Kazakh freestyle wrestling team was named the top-ranked squad. Georgians claimed the second place.
Iranian freestyle wrestlers finished third, having collected three gold medals through Mehdi Vaisi, Sajjad Goudarzi and Amirhossein Zare’ in the 48-kilogram, 55-kilogram and 110-kilogram weight categories respectively.
Sohrab Adham picked up a silver medal for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 65-kilogram class, and Abbas Ebrahimzadeh settled for the bronze in the 45-kilogram weight division.
The Constantin Alexandru & Ioan W. Popovici and Dumitru Pirvulescu & Vasile Iorga began in the Romanian capital city of Bucharest on May 31, and will finish on June 3, 2018.
