The Iranian men’s national beach volleyball A team has earned a spot in the round of 16 of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Beach Tour - Palembang Open in Indonesia, recording a victory over the Hong Kong pair.
On Friday, the Iranian pair of Rahman Raoufi and Bahman Salemi defeated Hong Kong’s Tsz Ho Kelvin and Pui Lam 2-1 (15-21, 21-13 and 15-12) in a Pool D fixture.
The Iranian beach volleyball A team had earlier defeated the Omani pair, consisting of Haitham al Shuraiqi and Ahmed al Hosni, 2-1 (14-21, 27-25 and 16-14) in their opening match.
Meanwhile, the Iranian men’s national beach volleyball B team, comprising Agh Mohammad Salagh and Abdulhamed Mirzaali, slumped to a 0-2 defeat (16-21 and 15-21) against Katsuhiro Shiratori and Shinji Takahashi of Japan in its second Pool G match, and knocked off the tournament.
The AVC Beach Tour - Palembang Open kicked off on October 18, and will finish on October 22, 2017.
