Iranian female Paralympic archer Zahra Nemati has shown a marvelous display of talent and aptitude at the 2017 World Archery Para Championships in China, and stood atop the podium to make the Islamic Republic proud.
On Saturday, the 32-year-old gold medalist at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games competed in the recurve women open competitions in the Chinese capital city of Beijing, and defeated her Turkish opponent Merve Nur Eroglu 6-2 in the final contest to be awarded the gold medal.
Chinese athlete Wu Chunyan got the bronze medal.
Later in the day, the Iranian pair of Nemati and Pouriya Jalalipour managed to finish third in the recurve mixed team open, and pocketed the bronze medal.
Italian contestants Elisabetta Mijno and Stefano Travisan collected the gold medal. Thais Silva Carvalho and Francisco Cordeiro from Brazil scooped the silver.
The 2017 World Archery Para Championships kicked off on September 12, and will finish on September 17.
