Iranian grapplers bag two bronze medals at Junior Wrestling World Championships

Young Iranian freestyle wrestlers have featured quite satisfactory displays of physical might and grappling skills at the Junior Wrestling World Championships in Finland, and received two bronze medals.

On Tuesday and the opening day of the international sporting event in the southern Finnish city of Tampere, Iranian wrestler Yones Aliakbar Emamichoghaei overcame his Albanian opponent Eriglent Prizreni 10-0 in the third-place bout of the 60-kilogram weight category, and collected the bronze medal.

Hiromu Sakaki from Japan also defeated Indian contestant Ravinder Ravinder 9-6 and clinched a bronze medal.

Russian wrestler Abdula Akhmedov downed Mitchell Steven McKee 8-0, and won the yellow metal.

Furthermore, Mohammad Aliasghar Mottaghinia outmuscled Muhammet Lutfi Kucukyildirim from Turkey 11-0 in the 74-kilogram weight division, and snatched the bronze medal.

Veer Dev Gulia from India defeated Japan’s Yajuro Yamasaki 8-5 and earned a bronze medal.

Mark John Hall of the United States got the better of Uzbek rival Isa Shapiev in the gold-medal bout, and defeated him 2-0. 

The Junior Wrestling World Championships began in Tampere, Finland, on August 1, and will finish on August 6, 2017.
