The head of futsal technical committee at the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) says the Iranian men’s national futsal team is scheduled to play a number of friendly fixtures against Croatia and Uzbekistan in April.
Abbas Torabian said on Tuesday that the FFIRI had reached an agreement with the governing body of association football in Croatia (Hrvatski nogometni savez or HNS) for two exhibition games between the Iranian and Croatian national futsal teams on April 2 and 3 in Croatia.
He added that the Iranian squad will travel in the last week of April to the Uzbek capital city of Tashkent, where the Persians will put their preparedness to test in two scrimmages against the Uzbekistan national futsal team, which is known as White Wolves.
Iran men’s national futsal team delivered an outstanding performance at the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Futsal World Cup in Colombia, and finished third in the high-status event.

The 2016 FIFA Futsal World, which was the 8th edition of the tournament, opened in Colombia on September 10 and wrapped up on October 1 last year.
According to the latest classification published by the Asociación Mundial de Futsal (AMF), Iran men’s national futsal team has maintained its position as Asia’s best with 1,608 points, and stays put in the sixth slot of the world’s overall standings.
