The national Iranian men’s soccer team has maintained its position in the latest edition of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rankings, staying in the world’s 39th spot.
According to the latest monthly rankings released by the world’s soccer governing body on Thursday, Team Melli accumulated 674 points and maintained its place as the best Asian soccer team.
Other Asian teams were South Korea, which climbed two positions to land in the 48th slot in the latest rankings with 592 points, followed by Uzbekistan and Japan, which settled in the 56th and 57th spots respectively with 569 and 564 points.
Uzbekistan ascended 10 places in the global ranking of national soccer teams, while Japan dropped four.
The Argentina national football team, also known as the Albicelestes, remains the top-ranked soccer team in the world, with 1,585 points.
Belgium garnered 1,401 points to win the second position, while third-place Colombia gained 1,331 points.
Germany also maintained its place and stood fourth with 1,319 points.
