The national Iranian women’s soccer team has climbed two places to the 55th spot in the June edition of the world rankings of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
According to the latest monthly rankings released by the world’s soccer governing body on Friday, the Iranian team collected 1,418 points.
Japan, which stood 7th in the international rankings, maintained its position as the best Asian soccer team with 1,991 points. The East Asians are followed by North Koreans and the Chinese, who claimed the 9th and 12th overall spots respectively with 1,952 and 1,914 points.
The United States remains the top-ranked women’s soccer team in the world with 2,168 points.
Germany earned 2,115 points to claim the second position while third-placed France accumulated 2,064 points. England stood fourth with 2,021 points.
