A senior Iranian official has called for a resolute international campaign against the growing threat of terrorism across the world.
“To control, counter and exterminate the evil phenomenon of terrorism, international determination and all-out cooperation is needed to keep the world safe from … terrorists,” said Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Saturday.
Rafsanjani also condemned Friday’s terrorist attacks in Kuwait, Tunisia and France.
He said that it is highly regrettable that a group falsely claiming to be Islamic has intensified its violent acts against Shias, Sunnis and Christians especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Bloody Friday
In Kuwait, at least 26 people were killed when a bomber blew himself up inside a mosque during Friday prayers. Over 220 others were also wounded in the blast.
Three Iranians were among those killed in the attack, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Elsewhere In Tunisia, at least 39 people were killed in an attack by two unidentified gunmen in the Port El Kantaoui tourist complex near the resort town of Sousse.
ISIL also claimed responsibility for that attack.
In another incident in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, near Lyon, in southern France, an attacker crashed the gate of a chemical plant in a truck and drove the vehicle into a shed containing gas cylinders, leading to an explosion. Several people were injured in the terrorist incident.
