An Israeli minister has threatened to assassinate the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, as Yemeni Armed Forces continue their retaliatory operations targeting strategic Israeli positions.

“I’m sending a message to the Houthi leader that if he continues with his actions, he will end up exactly like [Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Yahya] Sinwar and [Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan] Nasrallah,” Eli Cohen, the regime's energy minister, told the local radio station 94 FM on Monday.

Sinwar was found dead in southern Gaza’s Rafah city on October 16, wearing a combat vest with an AK-47 rifle by his side. Hamas confirmed his assassination in a statement the following day.

The charismatic leader of the Palestinian resistance movement had escaped many assassination attempts before and after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.

Sinwar, 62, played an instrumental role in coordinating and supervising the landmark operation that jolted the Zionist regime and shattered the myth of its invincibility.

On September 27, the Israeli regime assassinated Nasrallah using American-supplied bunker-buster bombs.

It led Hezbollah to intensify its retaliatory operations against Israeli targets in the occupied territories until a ceasefire took effect on November 27.

“Our focus now is on Yemen and Iran,” Cohen said. “It should be said that unless Iran is harmed, instability in the Middle East will continue.”

On Sunday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said the country’s missile units have carried out at least 13 operations against Israeli targets in the past 10 days,

He noted most of the attacks targeted Tel Aviv in the central part of the occupied territories, using hypersonic ballistic missiles, and that the operations were undertaken during the period from December 19 to 28.

Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement has been also targeting ships linked to Israel, the United States, or the United Kingdom to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

The Yemeni armed forces have said they will not stop their operations until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.

So far, Israel has killed at least 45,541 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured another 108,338 individuals in Gaza.
