Iran has strongly condemned Israel's deadly airstrikes that destroyed Yemen’s civilian facilities, saying the Tel Aviv regime committed the crime while enjoying the United States' "unconditional" backing.
Speaking on Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the Israeli assaults on two power stations near the Yemeni capital of Sana’a, as well as the Hudaydah port and Ras Isa oil facility, constitute a blatant violation of the international law and the UN Charter.
"The Zionist regime is committing crimes under the US's unconditional support, and [Thus] Washington is complicit in violations and atrocities perpetrated by the criminal gang ruling Tel Aviv," he added.
Baghaei also praised Yemen’s campaign of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians amid a genocidal Israeli war, which has killed at least 45,097 people and injured 107,244 others in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
He further emphasized that the international community and the Muslim world have legal and moral responsibility to stop the Israeli acts of aggression and prosecute the regime's officials for invasions and war crimes.
Israel won't be able to demoralize regional nations: Hamas
Similarly, the Palestinian Hamas resistance group condemned the brutal Israeli air raids on Yemen as an extension of aggression against Gaza, Syria, and the entire region.
"We affirm that the criminal enemy will not break the morale of our people or the people of our region," it said in a statement.
"It will not undermine the will of Yemen nor deter them from their principled stance" in support of Palestinians and their cause.
Thursday's Israeli strikes killed nine civilians and injured three others in Yemen.
The regime's military confirmed in a statement that its fighter jets had bombed Yemen following repeated missile and drone attacks on the occupied territories.
Since the start of Israel’s offensive against Gaza, the Yemeni forces have conducted operations in support of the Palestinian people.
They have hit targets throughout the occupied territories, in addition to firing at Israeli ships or vessels heading to or departing Israeli ports, in the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and even in the Arabian Sea.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have stressed that they will continue their anti-Israel operations until the usurping regime ends its bloody Gaza onslaught.
