The Gaza-based Hamas resistance movement has emphasized its unwavering commitment to its core values on the 37th anniversary of the group’s establishment, reiterating the Palestinian nation’s perseverance and steadfastness to end the Israeli occupation.
In a statement released on Saturday, Hamas reaffirmed faithful adherence to its founding principles and pledged strong loyalty to the blood of martyrs and the sacrifices of prisoners being kept behind bars in Israeli detention centers.
Hamas has remained committed to its values and identity since its inception, honoring the sacrifices of those who have fought and suffered for this cause, the statement read.
The movement also reaffirmed its commitment to ending the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza, highlighting its significant efforts to engage positively with all initiatives aimed at halting the bloody military aggression.
Hamas emphasized its openness to “serious and genuine initiatives to stop the aggression and crimes of the occupation against our people, while firmly adhering to the rights, principles, and aspirations of the Palestinian people.”
In its statement, the movement further underscored that the Palestinian people have the “absolute right, capability, and free will to determine their future and organize their internal affairs independently.”
It also rejected “any international or Zionist projects aiming to dictate Gaza’s future in line with the occupation’s interests.”
Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against the Israeli regime in response to the occupying entity’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.
The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed 44,930 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 106,624 others. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.
Israel’s military has systematically blocked the entry of lifesaving food, medicine, medical supplies, fuel, and tents into the besieged Palestinian territory since October 2023.
More than one year into the Tel Aviv regime’s campaign of death and destruction, the territory’s critical infrastructure such as water networks, sanitation facilities and bread mills has all been razed to the ground.
