US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Sunday has been another deadly day for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as the regime’s military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more attacks. In one of the strikes, at least two people were killed and several others injured after Israeli warplanes bombed areas near the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza. Elsewhere in northern Gaza, several people, including children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. In al-Sabra area, western Gaza, several Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli air raid. The Israeli artillery also shelled a number of areas across Gaza, leaving an unknown number of Palestinians dead and injured. The Israeli aggression on Gaza which began in October last year, has so far killed nearly 45,000 and injured more than 106,000 others.
Slamming Israel's Syria incursion
Jordan’s capital has hosted a meeting of Arab countries on Syria, during which the participants called for a peaceful transition in the Arab country following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government. The meeting in Amman brought together foreign ministers from eight Arab countries as well as top diplomats from the US and Turkey. The diplomats said in a statement that all political and social forces must be represented in the new Syrian government that should respect the rights of minorities. The statement underlined that the political process in Syria should be supported by the UN and the Arab League. The Arab foreign ministers also condemned Israel’s incursion into the buffer zone with Syria and its air strikes on the Arab country, demanding the withdrawal of the regime’s troops from Syrian territory. Since the takeover of Syria by armed groups last week, the Israeli military has struck hundreds of military targets across the country.
Iran's annual rights report
Iran’s foreign ministry has released its annual report on human rights violations by the United States and the United Kingdom. The report says that throughout 2024, the United States has continued to engage in human rights violations on the international stage, exposing the fallacy of its claims to be a leader in human rights. It says the US unconditional support for Israel has transformed the West Asia region into one of the most critical areas globally for human rights abuses. It also states that the US has severely violated the rights of millions through unjust unilateral coercive measures, arms transfers, and support for terrorist organizations. The report also accuses the UK government of complicity in the Gaza genocide through arms sales to Israel and vetoing ceasefire resolutions at the UN Security Council. It also criticizes the UK’s illegal Immigration Act, including the controversial Rwanda deportation plan, which faces global condemnation for violating international asylum rights. The report cites rising racial discrimination and severe challenges for refugees, including alleged mistreatment of migrants at sea.
