AI video shows ‘Netanyahu’s son in Hamas captivity’ as families press Israeli PM to end war

Frame grab from a video released by families of Zionist captives on December 4, 2024, shows an AI-generated version of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son pleading for help while in Hamas captivity.

The families of the Zionists, who have been taken captive by Palestinian resistance movements, have released an AI-generated video showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son in Hamas captivity.

The video was released on Wednesday by Life Forum, which comprises the families, in an attempt by them to pressure the premier into ending the now-14-month-old war of genocide that the regime launched against the Gaza Strip under the pretext of freeing hundreds of captives, who were seized by the movements in a retaliatory operation last October.

It shows an AI-generated version of the premier’s son, Yair, pleading for help and saying, “My life is in danger” because of the Israeli military’s relentless bombing of the coastal sliver.

“I see the polls here from all the channels,” the character is seen saying, referring to the opinion polls, in which Israeli settlers have voted in favor of the regime’s entering a deal with the resistance towards potentially ending the war and enabling the return of the captives.

“I am asking you, mom and dad — let me go. Only you can,” he says.

The video ends with a caption reading, “If their child had been kidnapped, our children would have been home already.”

The development came after Hamas said the death toll among the captives had risen to 33 as a result of intense Israeli attacks against Gaza and the resistance’s reaction to the genocidal war.

In a video message on Monday, the group said the deaths had been caused and some other captives had gone missing “because of the criminal Netanyahu and his fascist army.”

“By continuing your insane war, you may lose your captives forever. Do what you must do before it is too late,” the movement warned.

The footage went on to show many Israeli assaults on Gaza that had killed the captives in various parts of the territory, including in Gaza City’s Shuja'iyya neighborhood and the city of Jabalia in the northern part of the coastal sliver, where as many as seven captives were killed amid Israeli aggression.

Towards its end, the video incorporated angry remarks by three female captives, who blamed Netanyahu for their ordeal and the deaths of their fellow captives.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli regime’s Channel 12 cited the Israeli military as telling the families that it had been responsible for the deaths of six captives, who were being held in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, and whose bodies were found back in August.

The military told the families that the development amounted to a "big mistake."

Reacting to the information, the daughter of one of the captives said "military pressure endangers the captives' lives, and the exchange deal is the only option to safely return them."

Zionist security sources also told the regime’s public broadcaster Kan that “captives cannot be returned alive by a military operation in the Gaza Strip, and information about their whereabouts is diminishing over time."

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari, meanwhile, addressed the issue of Eli Feldstein, Netanyahu’s lawyer, who is accused of unlawfully acquiring sensitive military information and leaking it to influence public opinion, aiming to reduce pressure on the primer to make significant concessions in exchange for the release of the captives.

Hagari attacked Knesset (the Israeli parliament) for passing the "Feldstein Law," which was ratified to protect Netanyahu in the matter.

Knesset speakers and members reacted by calling for Hagari to be fired immediately, stating that he should not have dared to speak about legislative processes.

The war has so far claimed the lives of at least 44,532 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Also on Wednesday, 25 people were killed after the Israeli military brought residential homes in the middle of Gaza City under attack, while over 20 others lost their lives in the Mawasi area near Khan Younis in southern Gaza amid further Israeli aggression.

The fatalities took to 70, the number of the Palestinians, who have been killed by the regime since early in the day.

The Israeli premier has, however, vowed to sustain the onslaught until Hamas’ “elimination,” a prospect that has been ruled out as impossible by the group and even some Israeli officials and Tel Aviv’s own allies.
