Iraqi Hezbollah threatens to hit Israel, US bases if airspace violated for attacking Iran

Iraq’s anti-terror group Kata’ib Hezbollah has warned against the use of Iraqi airspace to attack Iran, saying it would launch retaliatory strikes against Israeli and US bases in case of any violation of the Arab country’s sovereignty.

Abu Ali al-Askari, a senior security official with Kata'ib Hezbollah, made the remarks in a statement on Saturday, amid speculations that Israel may attack Iran’s oil facilities in response to Iranian ballistic missile attacks that targeted the regime’s capital of Tel Aviv and other areas earlier this month.

“We reaffirm that any targeting of our country, Iraq, or the use of its land and airspace to target the Islamic Republic of Iran, will not limit the response of Kataeb Hezbollah to the Zionist entity alone but will also strike at American bases, camps, and interests in Iraq and the region,” Askari said.

He went on to say that Iran’s missile attack on Israel came in response to the occupying regime’s genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip and its ongoing massacres against civilians in Palestine and Lebanon, stressing that Tel Aviv’s threat to retaliate against Iran is with full support from the United States and Western countries.

Sirens sounded all over the occupied territories as Iran launched hundreds of missiles towards the Zionist entity.

The Iraqi official further noted that they will make sure “the world will lose 12 million barrels of oil daily” in case an energy war happens.

“As for what our Yemeni brothers will do in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and what our Iranian brothers will do in the Strait of Hormuz, only Allah knows,” he added.

The latest development comes as several Persian Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, have decided not to allow Israel to use their airspace for any aggression against Iran and have informed the US of this decision.

The Persian Gulf countries are currently lobbying Washington to stop Israel from attacking Iran's oil sites.

Some market experts have already warned of rising oil prices and a global supply problem in the case of an Israeli anti-Iran attack.

A new report says several countries in the Persian Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, are not allowing Israel to use their airspace for any act of aggression against Iran.

On October 1, Iran launched hundreds of missiles towards the Zionist entity, in a retaliatory attack dubbed Operation True Promise II.

Iran has reiterated that the missile attack against Israel was a response to the regime’s brutal wars in Palestine and Lebanon and its sabotage activities in Iran in recent months. Authorities have warned that any counterattack by Israel would face more destructive responses from Iran.

Since early October 2023, Israel has been waging brutal two-front aggression that has killed at least 42,000 people in the Gaza Strip and 2,141 others in Lebanon so far.

Over the same period, the usurping regime has also assassinated several resistance leaders, including Hamas’s political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In support of Palestinians in Gaza, resistance groups have launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli targets and vowed to keep fighting until the Gaza onslaught ends.
