For a full year Israeli attacks of densely-populated areas in Gaza have raged on, resulting in the death of thousands, in addition to tens of thousands physically and psychologically traumatized.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) held a press conference to communicate with doctors in Gaza online to assess the condition of the people there and the health damage caused by the war.

The teams of Médecins Sans Frontières, MSF, have been operating in Gaza for the past 24 years, but we have never seen anything at the scale.

… with the power cut, food cut, and the blockades on Gaza, it's almost impossible for the medical humanitarian organizations to continue doing their job saving lives.

… we talk about the catastrophic situation, more than 41,000 people have lost their lives and more than 100,000 wounded.

And the teams continue to deal with the catastrophic consequences of this. We talk about the Gaza Strip with very limited resources because of a 17-year blockade on the strip.

Enas Abu Khalaf, Member, Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders is calling on the international community to take action toward an immediate ceasefire, an end to the war and the delivery of aid to alleviate the suffering of those inside the strip.

Today, we call upon the international community to step up and do their job by providing protection for civilians in Gaza, and we call for an immediate, unconditional and sustained ceasefire in Gaza.

For a whole year, Israeli forces have besieged hospitals in Gaza and opened fire on patients and medical staff, leading to the evacuation of 14 health facilities and depriving thousands of access to life saving medical care.

MSF was [sic] realizing that 90% of the people they were prevented to reach the medical facilities. So due of [sic] this, we start to relocate our activities in the isolated area where there is a lot of closures, a lot of Israeli checkpoints.

Mariam Qabbas, Psychologist, MSF Health Promoter

The teams from the international medical charity, Doctors Without Borders, MSF, have treated thousands of people suffering from injuries caused by the daily Israeli bombings in Gaza.

They still continue to witness children dying on hospital floors due to the lack of medical resources.
