The world is still silent, say Britons on anniversary of Gaza war

Britons gathered by parliament on Tuesday holding candles and flowers, as they marked one year since Israel's bombardment in Gaza.

"The world seems to be very silent about this," one demonstrator told Reuters. "It's important that we are out here demonstrating. And remembering all the people that we've lost."

Vigils and demonstrations were held across the world in the lead up to the anniversary of October 7, many against Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip which has laid waste to the densely populated coastal enclave, killed almost 42,000 people, according to Palestinian health authorities, and displaced most of the 2.3 million population.
