A US-based people(s)-centered human rights project against war, repression, and imperialism has described Operation al-Aqsa Flood launched by Hamas and other Gaza-based groups against the Israeli regime as “a legitimate resistance operation” by besieged Palestinians in the coastal sliver.

In a statement on the occasion of the first anniversary of the large-scale and multi-pronged operation, US Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) said the attack was lawful in light of Israel’s decades-long ethnic cleansing, massacre of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, displacement and injury of millions of individuals, and establishment of an apartheid regime, all of which have been going on with the backing of Western governments.

“Therefore, the Black Alliance for Peace views the Al-Aqsa Flood as a legitimate resistance operation by the besieged Palestinians – the only party with an internationally recognized right of resistance. We support Palestinian resistance against the violent military domination by white supremacist imperialism and colonialism that began, first in the form of British colonialism, and continues in the form of Zionism,” the statement read.

BAP noted that the Israeli genocidal war on Palestinians actually began on November 29, 1947, when United Nations Resolution 181 led to the creation of the Zionist settler-colonial entity.

This systematic terrorism has now engulfed Lebanon, with "Israel replicating its depraved, anti-human tactics from Gaza. It began with an attempt to terrorize the resistance group Hezbollah including the killing of the group’s revered leader and anti-colonial fighter, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. This terrorism has continued with the indiscriminate massacre of civilians in an attempt to force the Lebanese people into submission,” the organization pointed out.

It went on to take a swipe at the so-called advocates of human rights, including the International Criminal Court (ICC) and International Court of Justice (ICJ) along with all the other Western-run international bodies, arguing they have proven themselves to be complicit and mere puppets of US imperialism over the last year.

“As global protests erupt in fury, Israel continues its slaughter, understanding clearly that the US ... and the white West will continue to provide it [with] protection,” the statement also read.

BAP underlined that it stands by Palestinians’ right to fight for their humanity since there is no real justice for them in Western-controlled international laws.

It finally demanded urgent action against the Zionist massacre of Palestinians and invasion of Lebanon.

“The time to stand up against genocide and colonialism is right now - today. And we do not have the luxury of waiting for history to vindicate the Palestinians’ just struggle; we must act to help end the Zionists’ ever-expanding genocidal war now, once and for all,” it said.
