Operation Al-Aqsa Flood thwarted major Israeli attack on Gaza resistance: Qassam Brigades

Spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, Abu Obeida delivers a televised speech on October 7, 2024, on the occasion of the first anniversary of Operation al-Aqsa Flood.

Operation al-Aqsa Flood was a massive pre-emptive strike against Israel and came before the regime could launch a major attack on resistance in Gaza, says the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the Hamas military wing.

Delivering a televised speech on the first anniversary of the large-scale and multi-pronged operation, Abu Obeida described Al-Aqsa Flood as the most professional commando operation in modern times.

He said the operation came in the wake of the regime’s continuous aggression against the Palestinians and desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque, which had reached an unprecedentedly dangerous stage.

“And now, for a year, fighters have been waging an unequal battle with the criminal enemy,” Abu Obeida said.

The Qassam Brigades spokesman vowed that the group will keep fighting a “long war of attrition.”

“We choose to keep up the fight in a long war of attrition, one that is painful and costly for the enemy.”

“Drones from Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen are flying in the skies over occupied Palestinian territories, striking important enemy sites and targets and draining the Zionist enemy’s security and defensive capabilities. The aircraft disrupt the occupying regime’s balance and inflict heavy economic and military losses on it,” Abu Obeida said.

The Qassam Brigades spokesman said Resistance fighters are continuing their heroic steadfastness in every inch of Gaza, and the battle will go on until Israel is defeated.

Abu Obeida said the assassination of Resistance leaders will not intimidate Palestinian factions, and that the Zionist enemy’s joy will be short-lived.

He also praised Iran's retaliatory missile strikes against the Israeli regime, Operations True Promise I and II, saying they sent shivers down the Israeli regime’s spine.

Abu Obeida then addressed fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement.

“We are confident about your strength and power to inflict painful losses on the enemy. We proudly appreciate the great popular movement in Yemen, as well as all brotherly and friendly peoples around the world.”

He took a swipe at the US administration for being complicit in Israeli atrocities and genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza.

“Palestinian resistance fighters remain fully prepared to inflict more losses on the Zionist enemy. They can kill thousands of its troops, injure thousands more and destroy military hardware,” the Qassam Brigades spokesman said.

Abu Obeida also condemned Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu for failing to secure a deal on the exchange of Palestinian prisoner with the regime’s captives in Gaza.

The Zionist regime knows nothing other than the language of force and war, he said.

Abu Obeida stated that the recent shooting attack in Jaffa, a neighborhood in Tel Aviv, saying it was part of a broader operation that will be harsher and much more bitter.
