Hezbollah has lauded Operation al-Aqsa Flood carried out by Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups against the Zionist regime, describing it as a heroic moment with “historic and strategic implications” for the West Asia region.
In a Monday statement marking the first anniversary of the large-scale and multi-pronged operation, the Lebanese resistance movement emphasized that the surprise attack will yield strategic results on the overall situation in the region and will help Palestinians reclaim their legitimate right to exercise sovereignty over their occupied territories between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan.
Hezbollah called for continued resistance against decades of aggression and injustice since Israel’s creation in 1948, saying, “Palestinian people have the full right to resist the usurping regime by all means to restore their legitimate rights and eliminate the occupation.”
The Lebanese group further noted that Israel, despite ongoing brutalities and savagery, particularly in Gaza, where tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed and large-scale destruction has occurred, has proven to be fragile and unable to survive without US support.
Hezbollah also condemned the United States and its allies, stating they are complicit in the suffering inflicted on Palestinians, Lebanese nationals and other peoples of the region.
“There is no place for this temporary Zionist entity in our region,” the statement added, calling Israel a “cancerous entity” that must be eradicated.
Hezbollah also commended the resilience of the Palestinian people despite a year of hardship, praising resistance fighters in Yemen and Iraq, along with the Islamic Republic of Iran, for their support of the Palestinian cause.
The statement said that Iran’s latest retaliatory missile strikes against the Israeli regime, dubbed Operation True Promise II, were a “significant contribution to the ongoing confrontation with the Zionist enemy.”
Hezbollah defended its decision to open a new front on October 8 last year to support Palestinian fighters, calling it a necessary act of solidarity and defense of Lebanon.
The group pointed to the toll this decision has taken on Lebanon, citing the displacement of thousands of civilians, destruction of property, and continued Israeli aggression.
Hezbollah finally expressed confidence in its ability to repel Israeli attacks and praised the Lebanese nation’s endurance and steadfastness.
“The era of defeats is over,” the statement concluded. “The victory of God has arrived.”
