At least six people, including a local commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), have been killed in two separate terrorist attacks in the country’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan close to the border with Pakistan.

Governor of Nik-Shahr County, Mojib Hassani, said four people were fatally shot in the Bent district of the region on Tuesday morning, when several terrorists opened fire on them as they were returning from a charity ceremony at a school in the area.

He identified the victims as Abdollah Kadkhodaei, IRGC commander of Bent district of Nik-Shahr County, Yousef Shirani, head of Bent Municipal Council, as well as conscripts Javad Sadati and Mojib Baluchi.

Separately, two police officers lost their lives in Khash County of the province after a number of terrorists riddled their vehicle with gunfire as they were traveling along a rural road.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, has long been the site of frequent clashes between Iranian security forces and Takfiri terrorists as well as drug traffickers.

Iran’s security forces have protected the border and managed to repel almost all assaults by foreign-backed terrorists.

The so-called Jaish al-Adl, based in Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for several terror attacks targeting both civilians and security forces in recent years in Sistan and Baluchestan.
