Islamic Jihad: Resistance to last until Israel’s expulsion

The Islamic Jihad says the Israeli regime’s fresh round of intensified deadly aggression against the occupied West Bank will only further embolden the resistance in its ongoing endeavor to liberate the Palestinian territories from Israeli occupation.

The Gaza Strip-based Palestinian resistance movement made the remarks in a statement on Friday after a drone strike by the regime claimed the lives of three Palestinians in the town of al-Zababdeh near the city of Jenin in northern West Bank.

The group condemned “the widespread aggression being carried out by the enemy on the cities and camps of the northern West Bank.”

It, however, asserted that such crimes “will not achieve its (the regime’s) goals, but will only increase our determination and resolve to resist until the occupation is expelled from our land.”

Friday marked the third day of the escalation by the regime, which has seen its forces bringing various areas across the West Bank, especially those lying in its northern parts, under intensified airstrikes and ground attacks.

The regime’s forces have also engaged in a widespread campaign of arrests and systematic destruction of infrastructure across the targeted areas.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military staged a drone strike against Jenin and a nearby village, besides targeting the al-Fara refugee camp located south of the city of Tubas. A total of 12 Palestinians were killed in the raids.

And on Thursday, it killed another Palestinian in Jenin and five others inside a mosque in the Nour Shams refugee camp in the city of Tulkarem.

Reacting to the massacres, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad’s fellow Gaza-headquartered resistance movement, has warned that the regime was seeking to expand its October-present genocidal war on Gaza, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 40,600 Palestinians, to the West Bank.
