Resistance groups in the region have strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of a school sheltering displaced people in the Gaza Strip, where more than 100 Palestinians were killed early Saturday.
“The massacre at al-Tabaeen school in the al-Daraj neighborhood in the center of Gaza City is a horrific crime that marks a dangerous escalation in the unprecedented series of crimes and massacres in the history of wars, perpetrated in the Gaza Strip by the new Nazis,” Hamas said.
The attack, it said, is an affirmation of Israel’s “continued war of genocide against our Palestinian people through the repeated and systematic targeting of defenseless civilians in displacement centers and residential neighborhoods, committing the most atrocious crimes against them”.
“We in the Hamas movement affirm that the escalation of Zionist criminality and widespread violations against defenseless civilians in all areas of the Gaza Strip would not have continued without the direct American support… which makes the US fully complicit in these crimes.”
The movement called on Arab and Islamic countries and the international community “to fulfill their responsibilities and take urgent action to stop these massacres and the escalating Zionist aggression against our unarmed people and families”.
Local media report said there were about 250 people inside the prayer hall at the school when it was struck by Israeli bombs while displaced people were performing the dawn prayer.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement said the bombing is “a full-fledged war crime.”
“The enemy army’s excuses for destroying schools are the same ones it used to destroy hospitals before, and they have been proven false,” it added.
It also said the failure of international institutions and courts to declare the Zionist entity’s leaders war criminals has contributed to their persistence.
“Many are arriving either soaked in blood or already pronounced dead,” a source said, adding that the medical facility is on the brink of collapse and unable to provide adequate medical care.
Yemen’s Ansarullah: Enemy committed brutal massacre
Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement said, “The enemy has committed a brutal massacre, with the full US support, against displaced people while they were performing the dawn prayer inside a school in the center of Gaza City."
“We strongly condemn the Zionist fascism, and denounce the United States’ full support to Israel to press ahead with its genocidal crimes in Gaza,” Ansarullah spokesman Mohammed Abdul-Salam said in a statement.
He said Arab and Muslim nations must assume their responsibility for the Palestinians in Gaza, stressing that shame and disgrace anyone who fails in his religious and humanitarian duties.
“Failure to honor the duties encourages the Zionist enemy to continue its unprecedented genocidal crimes,” Abdul-Salam added.
