Iran's crushing response
The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution vows a crushing response to any move by the US and Israel against the Islamic Republic and the Axis of Resistance in the region. Ayatollah Khamenei was speaking on the anniversary of the takeover of the US embassy, known as the den of espionage, in Tehran by Iranian students months after the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The Leader said seizing the US embassy in 1979 cannot be questioned as it served as the headquarters for plotting against the Islamic Revolution. He highlighted the importance of fighting against global oppression today, saying the fight is a duty based on Islamic teachings. Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran will do anything necessary to confront the global arrogance, calling for military and political readiness in this regard. The leader said continuation of the Iranian nation’s confrontation with arrogant powers requires knowledge, technology and a roadmap.
US-Israel Gaza genocide
It’s another deadly day for Palestinians in Gaza as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more attacks. In the latest such strike, at least three Palestinians were killed after Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza’s Workers’ Union in the al-Saftawi area in northern Gaza. Earlier, the Israeli bombings of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, left at least 10 Palestinians dead and several others injured. There are reports that the Israeli military shot at people trying to rescue those buried under the rubble in the attack. Israeli warplanes also carried out air raids on Beit Lahia, north of Jabalia, leaving at least 10 Palestinians dead and several others injured. Jabalia is an area that has been the focal point of regime attacks for the past nearly one month. The Israeli aggression that began in October last year, has so far claimed the lives of more than 43,200 people.
Israel killing journalists
November 2nd marks the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists. The purpose of this day is to express solidarity with journalists who strive to represent the truth and provide correct information. In his message for this day, UN Secretary General António Guterres says Gaza has seen the highest number of killings of journalists and media workers in any war in decades, calling for urgent steps to protect journalists worldwide. According to Palestinian officials, over one hundred-80 journalists have been killed in Israeli aggression in Gaza since October last year. Dozens of journalists have been killed in Lebanon as well. Meanwhile, today marks the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration that led to the creation of Israel by the West by uprooting the Palestinians from their ancestral lands. On this day in 1917, then British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour issued an infamous statement to pledge the settlement of European Jews on Palestinian lands.
