Call for constructive interaction
The leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called for cooperation between parliament and the incoming administration. In a meeting with Iranian lawmakers, the leader described parliament as the pillar of the Islamic establishment. Ayatollah Khamenei, however, said parliament should not trigger tension in public opinion and should protect people’s peace of mind. The leader said a single voice should be heard from the parliament and the administration on major issues. Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that a single voice must also be heard to frustrate those who are looking to find signs of division in the country.
Yemen support for Gaza
Yemen’s armed forces say they have carried out fresh retaliatory strikes on the Eilat region in southern Israeli-occupied territories. The spokesman for the Yemeni forces said important targets were struck with a number of ballistic missiles. Yaha Saree said Yemeni forces also successfully targeted an American ship in the Red Sea with drones and ballistic missiles. He said the operations were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and in response to the American, British, and Israeli aggression against Yemen. Saree specifically pointed to the Israeli attack on Yemen’s port city of Hudaydah, saying retaliation is inevitable and will be huge. At least three people were killed and nearly 90 others wounded in the Israeli strikes on oil storage facilities and a power plant in Yemen’s south.
US-Israeli onslaught in Gaza
More Palestinians are falling victim in Gaza as the blockaded territory remains under relentless Israeli air and artillery strikes. In one of the strikes, at least ten people were killed after Israeli warplanes struck a commercial complex in the southern city of Khan Yunis. In central Gaza, the Israeli military bombed a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving an unknown number of Palestinians killed and injured. The regime is also firing artillery shells toward several areas across the territory. The Israeli aggression on Gaza began last October. Since then nearly 39,000 people have been killed and more than 89,000 others injured. Hundreds of thousands of people have also been displaced.
