US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel’s relentless airstrikes and artillery fire claim the lives of more Palestinians across the Gaza Strip nine months into the regime’s genocidal war. In one of the latest strikes, at least nine Palestinians were killed, and many others injured after Israeli airstrikes hit two houses east and south of Gaza City. Four more civilians were killed and over a dozen injured after Israeli warplanes struck a residential building in al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City. The Israeli bombing of a house south of Gaza City also left three Palestinians dead and several others injured. Three citizens were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel’s artillery fire targeted areas in the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis, killing and injuring an unknown number of Palestinians. The death toll from the regime's genocide in Gaza is approaching 38,000. Nearly 87,300 civilians have been injured.

Onslaught on Gaza

The head of the UN humanitarian agency says nine out of ten Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip have been displaced since the Israeli genocide started last October. Andrea De Domenico said around one-point-nine million people are thought to be displaced in Gaza. He said ninety percent of Gazans have been internally displaced at least once, if not up to 10 times. The UN official added that the number of those displaced in Gaza rose significantly following the Israeli invasion of the southern city of Rafah. De Domenico said such military operations have forced people to reset their lives, over and over again. His remarks came after the Israeli regime issued a new evacuation order for Palestinians to leave the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says the regime's new evacuation order affects about 250,000 Palestinians in southern Gaza.

Gaza ceasefire talks

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, says it has “exchanged some ideas” with mediators about ending Israel’s onslaught on Gaza and complete withdrawal of its forces from the territory. Hamas said it is keen to reach an agreement to stop Israeli aggression and that communication with mediators is ongoing. The movement said it has not been strict on its demands during the negotiations, adding that Israel’s positions in talks are confusing. Hamas said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu only seeks to reach a temporary ceasefire to resume the aggression later. The movement stressed that its demands will not be affected by any pressure from Israel and the United States. Hamas said its leader, Ismail Haniyeh, has held phone calls with mediators in Qatar and Egypt on an agreement to end the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
