Israeli forces once again invade Gaza from north and south

Israeli forces have pushed deeper into the ruins of northern Gaza to recapture an area where they had claimed to have defeated the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas months ago.

Local media reports quoting sources said the regime on Monday carried out new attacks in the Jabalia refugee camp area.

Several civilians were reportedly killed after Israel sent troops and tanks. The ground assault follows a night of intense airstrikes in the area.

The most intense fighting for weeks is now taking place on both the northern and southern edges of the besieged Palestinian territory.

In the central parts of the strip, over 60 Palestinians were killed in just 24 hours.

Palestinians also fled the western part of Rafah and dismantled their tents in the southern crowded city, where Israeli forces are preparing for a large-scale ground aggression, despite international warnings. Relentless Israeli bombings also claimed the lives of at least 18 people in the city.

Israeli forces have ordered medical staff at Rafah’s Kuwaiti Hospital to evacuate as Gaza’s Health Ministry warns the health system could collapse in "a few hours."

Junaid Sultan, a vascular surgeon who spent time volunteering in Rafah, says hospitals losing power is a “death sentence” for patients.

The UN agency for the Palestinians has said on X that “more than 150,000 pregnant women are facing terrible sanitary conditions and health hazards amid displacement and war” in Gaza. It called for an immediate ceasefire.

A foreign staff member of the World Health Organization (WHO) and a Palestinian driver have been injured by Israeli shelling that hit an UNRWA vehicle east of Rafah, according to local sources.

On Monday, the Israeli military forced hundreds of displaced families to evacuate six UNRWA schools that were turned into shelters for displaced people in the Jabalia refugee camp.

Palestinians say the need to return to earlier battlegrounds is proof Israel's military objectives are unattainable.

More than seven months into the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, the regime continues to kill civilians across the besieged territory.

Over 35,000 Palestinians have been killed since October, when the US-Israeli genocide began. Most of those killed are women and children. Thousands of bodies also remain under the rubble.
