The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy says a major US aircraft carrier has left the strategic Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said on Friday the IRGC naval forces were closely monitoring the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier, which has been deployed to the region under the pretext of preventing a potential escalation.

"This flotilla was in the Persian Gulf for less than 20 days and has been under the IRGC naval forces' intelligence oversight."

The deployment of the US warship only serves propaganda purposes under the current circumstances, the commander stated, and it did not result in any "operational" outcome for the United States.

Tangsiri said Eisenhower gave the required responses to all the questions and intelligence requested by the IRGC Navy's air traffic control center in the Strait of Hormuz.

It has been a fragile maritime situation in the region lately. Many believe the current circumstances are a direct result of the conflict in Palestine where the Israeli regime has been busy with its savagery against the people of the besieged Gaza Strip since early October. The United States dispatched two of its major aircraft carriers to the region right afterward.

Washington said at the time the warships had been sent to prevent a regional spread of hostilities and to protect Israel and allies against threats from other countries.

That comes as US navy forces have been unable to fend off attacks by Yemeni resistance forces on Israeli-linked ships that pass the Arab country’s ports in the Red Sea.
