Death of Wagner chief

Russia has formally confirmed that the head of the Wagner paramilitary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, died in a recent plane crash. Russia’s Investigative Committee made the announcement after the genetic analysis of the bodies found at the crash site. It said the identities of all 10 people onboard correspond to the flight list. The aircraft was travelling from Moscow to Saint Petersburg when it crashed on Wednesday. Russian officials have not yet made any announcements on the cause of the crash but have categorically denied any involvement in it. Prigozhin led an abortive armed mutiny against Russia's military top brass in June.

Israel West Bank raid 

At least five Palestinians have been injured in another Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank.The regime’s forces stormed the northern city of Tulkarm, prompting violent clashes with resistance fighters. Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank in recent months as Israeli troops launch near-daily raids there. Palestinians have increasingly also been fighting back and launching retaliatory operations. On Saturday, the regime’s forces stormed a village near the city of Jenin and arrested several Palestinians. However, they were forced to retreat after coming under fire from resistance fighters. Around 230 Palestinians have been killed at the hands of Israeli forces this year and many others have been arrested.

Zimbabwe election dispute 

Zimbabwe's President, Emmerson Mnan-gagwa, has dismissed allegations of electoral fraud from the opposition after winning a second term in office.Mnan-gagwa said that anyone questioning the results of the election should take their case to court. Official results announced by the country’s electoral commission indicate he won 52.6 percent of the ballots against 44 percent for the main challenger, Nelson Chamisa. However, Chamisa called the results a QUOTE blatant and gigantic fraud, before claiming victory at a press conference in Harare.
