US-Israeli Gaza genocide

More Palestinian civilians are being slaughtered in Gaza, as the Israeli regime continues to pound the blockaded territory with more air raids and artillery fire. In one of the deadliest strikes, nearly a dozen people were killed after a residential building was bombed in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Another Israeli airstrike, targeting a Palestinian home in the Nuseirat refugee camp, also in central Gaza, left almost ten fatalities, including two children. In al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, at least a dozen Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a building. The Israeli artillery also targeted several parts of Gaza, leaving an unknown number of Palestinians dead and injured. According to medical sources, almost 100 Palestinians were killed in Israeli raids in Gaza on Thursday. The death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza now stands at nearly 45,600 with over 108,400 others injured.

Palestinian prisoners plight

The Israeli regime continues to use torture as a weapon of war against Palestinians abducted by the regime’s forces in Gaza. This, according to new testimonies from Gazan prisoners in Israel’s Naqab Prison. The testimonies confirm an unprecedented increase in the intensity of Israeli forces’ violence and dehumanization of Palestinians abducted from Gaza. Most abductees revealed that they were shackled, blindfolded and banned from movement for days. They also highlighted the ongoing health crisis within the regime’s prisons, particularly the spread of scabies, which are used as a form of torture. The majority of inmates said their bodies were covered in sores and boils due to the scabies infection. Some of them were held in the tent section of the prison, where freezing temperatures exacerbated their suffering. The testimonies come at a time when the number of fatalities among Palestinian prisoners continues to rise, with 54 confirmed deaths since October 2023.

Israel ceasefire violations

The Israeli military continues to violate last November's ceasefire agreement with Lebanon by carrying out fresh attacks on the country. The Israeli army’s new strikes hit the Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon. The regime claimed they targeted medium-range rocket launchers operated by the Hezbollah resistance movement. The Lebanese media reported at least three Israeli strikes in the area. Israeli forces set several houses on fire in the Aitaroun area. The regime’s warplanes also struck a building which the Israeli military claimed was an arms depot. The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon entered into force on November 27. Since then, the regime has violated the agreement on an almost daily basis. The truce came after months of fierce fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. In late December, the UN peacekeeping force expressed concern at the continuing damage done by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. The regime’s onslaught began in October 2023 and claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people in Lebanon.
