Iran's Intelligence Ministry says it carried out “a number of successful operations” against Israel in recent months, thwarting vicious conspiracies hatched by the occupying Tel Aviv regime and its allied anti-Iran terrorist groups.

Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib made the remakes during a meeting between a group of senior legal officials from his ministry and Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf in the capital Tehran on Wednesday.

Khatib noted that the operations “signify the security power” wielded by the country's Intelligence Ministry.

He went on to emphasize that enemies have failed in their attempts to undermine security in Iran.

One of the reasons for their failure is people’s cooperation with the intelligence ministry and the incumbent administration towards ensuring sustainable security in the country, Khatib pointed out.

He underscored that his ministry is duty-bound “to fight against terrorism, the Zionist regime, and the acts of sabotage against the country.”

In his remarks during the meeting, Qalibaf commended the ministry for playing an effective role in the establishment of security throughout the country, praising Iranian intelligence forces for their achievements.

He stressed that enemies, most notably the United States and Israel, have never stopped targeting Iran’s security and stability since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The top Iranian lawmaker also pointed to the ongoing economic pressure campaign against Iran, describing it as a "full-fledged war."

He said the enemy is making constant efforts to undermine the country’s various sectors, including the economic ones.

Qalibaf referred to the anti-Iran psychological and media warfare as another instance of the enemy's campaign against Iranians.

“In this war, the enemy is playing out a scenario aimed at shattering the nation’s hope, especially that of the youth, and fostering a sense of despair and dejection in them,” he asserted.

The top lawmaker called for a comprehensive fight in foiling the psychological and media warfare against Iran, and solving the problems facing the country.

On Saturday, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry issued a statement, saying that members of a terrorist group affiliated with Israeli spy agency Mossad were identified and arrested by Iranian security forces before they could carry out acts of sabotage.

The ministry added that the terrorists, who were in contact with Mossad agents through one of the neighboring countries, had sneaked into the country from Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

Nour News website, which is affiliated with Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), said in its Sunday report that the spy team had marked one of Iran’s sensitive facilities in the central province of Isfahan and was planning to blow it up.

The report added that the members of the network were trained in an African country for months and had simulated the aforesaid operation several times.

It also revealed that Iran’s security forces were monitoring the spy team even before it arrived in Iran and all its members and contacts both inside and outside the country were identified by the Intelligence Ministry several months before they entered the country.

The spy team had even planted highly explosive substances at the target site and the final phase of their operation was just a few hours away when it was busted, it explained.
