Russia gas currency switch

Russia-Ukraine conflict has shown immense impact on world economic activities as well as energy and commodity prices.

Recent developments suggest that it will also lead to a shift in international commerce as well by reinforcing the anti-dollar axis.

Russia has asked “unfriendly” countries to pay for Russian gas in roubles, a demand that has sent European gas prices surging. Despite opposing the move, it appears that the West has difficulty in circumventing an energy superpower.

This edition of the Spotlight interviews Gilbert Doctorow, independent international affairs analyst from Brussels, and Daniel Lazare, journalist and author from New York to discuss the impact of Russia-Ukraine conflict on global energy supply.
