Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived in Budapest, Hungary, for a four-day visit in defiance of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant. The Hungarian Prime Minister, Victor Orban, has welcomed the war criminal with open arms and even vowed to pull his country out of the ICC.

The Hague-based court has strongly criticized Budapest for not exercising its duty and apprehending Netanyahu, who after an investigation last year, had an arrest warrant issued for responsibility for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts during the Gaza genocide.

Budapest's refusal to fulfill its legal obligation under international law and the ramifications of this move for the international legal order is the focus of today's Spotlight program.
