Irans high-tech industry is developing at a fast pace and is thriving with numerous innovations making big contributions to the countrys economy.

These products make our lives more efficient and often require high levels of research and development by knowledge-based firms and institutions.
According to statistic given by the Vice Presidency office for Science and Technology, there are some 6,000 knowledge-based firms and startups active across the country. Many of them are active in fields of information communication technology (ICT), machinery equipment, electrics and electronics productions.
But also a great number of knowledge-based firms have made big advances in productions of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Figures from the Iran National Innovation Fund show that knowledge-based companies generated well over $5 billion in revenues.
The Vice Presidency office for Science and Technology has predicted that exports from this sector will bring in over $1 billion by the end of this year.
