Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expresses vociferous concern about the sheer expanse of the authority that is wielded by US President Donald Trump, who has already visited much trouble on both his own people and other nations worldwide.
Tweeting on Thursday, Zarif called Trump “a rogue president who sought vengeance against his OWN people.”
A rogue president who sought vengeance against his OWN people has been doing much worse to our people—and others—in the past 4 years.

What's disturbing is that the same man has the UNCHECKED authority to start a nuclear war; a security concern for the entire int'l community.
He was apparently referring to Trump’s untrammeled confrontation of the US-wide protests that followed murder of African-American citizen George Floyd last year.
The top diplomat said the US head of state has, meanwhile, “been doing much worse to our people—and others—in the past 4 years.”
During his controversy-riddled tenure, Trump took the US out of several momentous international accords, something that reflected utter disregard for multilateralism.
The agreements included the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a historic 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, after leaving which the US president returned Washington’s draconian sanctions against Tehran.
Zarif went on by noting that a president with such a tainted record also brandishes the authority to sanction various types of war, including nuclear warfare, on the rest of the world.
“What's disturbing is that the same man has the UNCHECKED authority to start a nuclear war; a security concern for the entire int'l community,” the foreign minister wrote.
The withdrawal spree also saw Trump taking Washington out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF), and the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty with Russia.
By leaving the agreements, he stopped the US commitment to underway regimes that are aimed at reducing the threat of nuclear weapons to the world.
