Iran has a thriving egg production industry that has contributed vastly to the economy of the food industry as a whole.
Eggs and pasteurized egg products are used in a variety of foods we love and eat daily such as ice creams, pastries, and processed foods.
Currently there is a surplus of around 200,000 tonnes of eggs among Iranian egg producers. This surplus is usually exported to help maintain market price balance and avoid losses for chicken farmers.
A total of 20,000 tonnes of eggs were exported from Iran last year. Last year, a total of 900,000 tonnes of eggs were produced, 90 percent of which by industrial units, and the remaining 10 percent, by local farmers.
