Over football news in Spain, Real Madrid have moved up to the top of La Liga after seeing off Deportivo Alaves 2-1 on away turf
Following a goalless first half, Real broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute, when Toni Kroos floated a free-kick into the box and Sergio Ramos rose high to head the ball into the bottom corner.
Ramos then ruined his good work after handing a penalty to Alaves. Lucas Perez stepped up and converted the resulting spot kick to restore parity in the 65th minute.
The joy was short-lived though as 4 minutes later, Dani Carvajal latched onto a rebound in the box to poke the ball in, and 2-1 it ends. For the moment, Real sit at the top of La Liga, waiting for Barcelona to drop points against Atletico in their Sunday encounter at the Wanda Metropolitano.
