Iran's powerlifting champion Ahmad Aminzadeh has bagged gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Aminzadeh won the gold medal with bars validated at 253, 258 and 263 kg at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena in Paris on Sunday, winning Iran’s eighth gold in the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Ukraine's Anton Kriukov and Georgia's Akaki Jintcharadze won the silver medal with 251kg and the bronze medal with 250kg, respectively.
Earlier on Sunday, powerlifter Aliakbar Gharibshahi had won the gold medal for Iran in the up to 107kg final.
Shooter Sareh Javanmardi, shot-putter Yasin Khosravi, shot-putter Amirhossein Alipour, javelin-thrower Saeid Afrouz, powerlifter Rouhollah Rostami, and the sitting volleyball team were the other gold medal winners in Paris for Iran.
Iranian Paralympic athletes concluded the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games with an impressive haul of 25 medals in total.
The medals included 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
Iran gained 14th place among the nations of the world, and 3rd place in Asia, after Japan and Uzbekistan.
France, the host of the games, finished in the 8th place with a total of 75 medals, 19 gold, 28 silver, and 28 bronze.
China won 1st place with 220 medals, Britain came 2nd with 124, and the US made 3rd place with 105 medals.
