Saudi ballistic missiles

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has an established ambition to become a ballistic missiles power. It is a frightening thought, given that Saudi Arabia is an extremist state and society.

Since 2015, with the rise to power of the mercurial Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman (MBS), Saudi Arabia has embarked on an aggressive foreign policy, as demonstrated by the disastrous war in Yemen and repeated interference in Lebanon, most dramatically by taking the Lebanese Prime Minister hostage in 2017.

The acquisition of ballistic missiles by the Saudi regime will inevitably embolden its aggressive posture in the region and lead to more and more adventurism, with disastrous consequences for the people of the region and beyond. And it doesn’t stop there. Just imagine Saudi Arabia with nuclear weapons, in the form of ballistic missile borne nuclear warheads. It is a nightmare scenario, and one that isn’t as far-fetched as it would at first appear.
